Williams" Mrs. Nancy C. Williams, mother of our fellow townsman, H. H. Stich, passed to her eternal reward Sunday morning, November 23, aged 72 years. Funeral services were conducted from the residence Monday at 3:00 p.m. by Rev. E. V. Goad, pastor of the deceased. The pastor's remarks were based on the words, "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord; yea, sayeth the Lord, that they may rest from their labors, and their works do follow them." A quartet composed of Mrs. J. J. VanEaton, Mrs. Ezra Ballinger, Mrs. M. M. Thornton and Mrs. Rev. Butler, sang beautiful and appropriate selections. Nancy C. Stitt was born in Indiana April 12, 1847. In 1861 she was united in marriage to George W. Stich to whom one son was born, H. H. Stich of Sidney, Iowa. In 1881 she was married to Samuel Williams who died six years later, whose form now rests in the Sidney cemetery. Two brothers preceded her in death: A. J. Stitt of Sidney and D. H. Stitt of Carson. A brother and sister reside at Indianapolis, Indiana. In early life the deceased made a confession of her faith in Christ and united with the Christian church in Indiana. After moving to Sidney she united with the Baptist church and continued in this fellowship until death claimed her. The sympathy of many friends is extended to the bereaved relatives in the loss of their loved one.
