She was a sister of Elizabeth Anderson-Harding, Noah's first wife. ****** Boone County Democrat December 13, 1907 About 4:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon, December 8th, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Minnie Fisk, 314 Crawford street, occurred the death of Mrs. Nancy Catherine Harding, one of the best known and most beloved pioneer residents of the city and wife of Noah Harding, for many years head of the fire department of the city and recognized by all as one of our bravest fire fighters. Mrs. Harding had been an invalid for many years and for several month pat had been confined to her bed. Through it all she was a patient sufferer and bore her sufferings with a Christian fortitude that won for her the earnest admiration and love of all who knew her. The funeral services were held from the residence at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, attended by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends of the family, coming to pay a last tribute of esteem to a good woman whom all loved in life. Burial in East Linwood. Nancy Catherine Anderson was born in Clark County, Indiana, December 28, 1881 (sic) making her 76 years old at the time of her death. August 24, 1853 she was united in marriage with Noah Harding in Howard County, Indiana. In 1855 they came to Iowa and located at Story City and in 1865 they came to Boone, where they have since made their home. For more than forty years they resided in the one home on Greene Street. To them were born five children, one of whom died in infancy. The husband and four children, Mrs. Minnie Fisk, of Boone, D.W. Harding, of Oskaloosa, Mrs. Walter Shropshire, of Omaha, and Mrs. Frances Saunders, of Terrill Texas, are left to mourn her death and are given the sincere sympathy of a wide circle of friends. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Headstone
