Longnecker, who was born near Eaton, Ohio, and is a daughter of Peter and Sarah ( Collins ) Longnecker, the former a native of Maryland and the latter of Ohio. Their union has been blessed with four children: Sarah A., now the wife of Silvan Plumly, a teacher of Muscatine; Mary L., who wedded Lincoln Osborne, a resident of Custer County, Neb.; Benjamin, who is living in West Liberty, and Mirt E., who is still at home. Muscatine Journal and News Tribune, Monday, December 27, 1926 Mrs. Nancy Elizabeth Gatton, 86, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sarah A. Plumly, 994 Fulliam avenue, this morning at 3:40, after an illness of about five weeks. Mrs. Gatton suffered a paralytic stroke five weeks ago and never recovered. Mrs. Nancy Elizabeth Lonnebecker was born at Dayton, O., July 5, 1840, the daughter of Peter and Sarah Lonnebecker. She came to Iowa when 17 years of age and after living near West Liberty, returned to Illinois after her marriage to Isaac Gatton. After residing 12 years in Illinois, they returned to Iowa and made their home near West Liberty. During the past seven years Mrs. Gatton had made her home with her daughter on Fulliam avenue. Surviving are three children, Mrs. Sarah A. Plumly of Muscatine, Mrs. A. L. Osborn of Dubuque, and Mirt E. Gatton of West Liberty; thirteen grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death 25 years, and one son, Ben Gatton, 35 years. The body was removed to the Wittich Funeral Home and arrangements for burial will be made later.
