Nancy Jane Pennington was born April 1, 1863 (sic 1836) in White county, Illinois, and with her parents moved to the state of Iowa in her infancy. She grew to womanhood in the pioneer days of that state. In 1854 she was united in marriage to Joseph Preston Pennington and unto this union were born eight children, all of whom except S. V. of this county and Annie (sic Amy) Lee Stovall, have preceded her in death. The father, J. P. Pennington, died in Missouri in 1895. She leaves, besides the two children, four brothers and one sister. Deceased was 80 years, 11 months and 20 days old at the time of death. children: Sylvester V.
