Frazee Nancy Jane Scott was born in Megs county, Ohio, March 8, 1842, and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mr. Ed Jameson May 17, 1927, aged 85 years, 2 months and 9 days. When a child of five years she came with her parents to Bentonsport, Iowa, and her life since that time has been spent in this vicinity. In 1859 Nancy Jane Scott was united in marriage to John Frazee of Keosauqua. To this union were born five daughters and four sons, six of whom are now living. They are Jim Frazee of Galesburg, Ill; Emma Luke of Kansas City; Fred Frazee of Keosauqua, Hattie Jameson of Keosauqua; Lul Bernard of Henrietta, Mo., and Della Allen of Chicago. Mrs. Frazee was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter and two sons. She was ever a dutiful daughter, a devoted wife and a loving mother and always had a helping hand for any one in need or distress. Besides her six children, Mrs. Frazee leaves to mourn her death sixteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Five sisters and two brothers survive her. They are Mrs. Caroline Eaton of Ottumwa, Mrs. Ellen White of Keosauqua, Mrs. Rebecca Jackson of Ottumwa, Mrs. Hattie Corns of Bentonsport, Mrs. Mary Corns of Bentonsport, Winfield Scott of Croton, and Franklin Scott of Bentonsport. In 1899 Mrs. Frazee became affiliated with the Christian church of Keosauqua, where her funeral services were held at 2 o’clock, May 19, conducted by Mrs. Jennie Nickle, assistant pastor of the Christian church. She was borne to her last resting place in Purdom cemetery by six of her grandsons.
