She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth McCoy of Arlington, and a large circle of friends to mourn her loss. #2-September 12, 1902- Arlington Herald- Nancy (Lane) Close Mrs. Nancy (Lane) Close was born in Brown County, Ohio April 1, 1824, and died in Arlington, Neb. At the residence of her daughter Mrs. McKennan, Sept. 7, 1902, bringing her age to 78 years, 5 months and 6 days. She was married April 1, 1842, to J.A. Close. They moved to Lafayette County, Wis. In 1852, where they resided one and one half years, then to Crawford County Wis. In 1867 they moved to Dodge County, Neb. three and one half miles southwest of Arlington. There was born to them three sons and five daughters, four of whom are still living: Henry Close of Arlington, Mrs. P.D. Denney of Spokane, Wash., Mrs. C.E. Crist and Mrs. Charles McKennan of Arlington, besides a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth McCoy, also living at this place. Mrs. Close has ever lived a consistent Christian, to which all who have known her can testify. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. Fetzer at the M.E. Church.
