Description	:	WALNUT COVE, NC (Ross Store Community) ~ Nancy Whitten Craddock, 79, peacefully passed away Monday morning, May 27, 2013, at her home. She was born September 27, 1933 in Stokes County to Ernest and Etta Lawson Whitten. Nancy retired in 1995 from the Stokes County School System, where she worked in the cafeteria at South Stokes High School with over 20 years of service. Read More	WALNUT COVE, NC (Ross Store Community) ~ Nancy Whitten Craddock, 79, peacefully passed away Monday morning, May 27, 2013, at her home. She was born September 27, 1933 in Stokes County to Ernest and Etta Lawson Whitten. Nancy retired in 1995 from the Stokes County School System, where she worked in the cafeteria at South Stokes High School with over 20 years of service. Nancy loved to work in her flower gardens and was so excited to see each color as they bloomed. She loved the beautiful view of Sauratown Mountain, Hanging Rock and Pilot Knob from her yard. She was a faithful member of Walnut Cove Primitive Baptist Church, and attended as long as her health permitted. An 11:00 am funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Burroughs Chapel with Elder Milton Gunter officiating. Burial will follow at Palmyra United Methodist Church Cemetery. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Craddock and her son, Jimmie Dale Craddock. She is survived by 2 sons, Jerry W. Craddock and Michael D. Craddock and wife Jenny, both of Walnut Cove; a daughter, Debbie L. Craddock of Salisbury; two granddaughters, Christina Craddock Queen of Walnut Cove and Lori Lynch and husband Joey of King. two sisters, Virginia Mitchell and husband John of Danbury; Lettie Watts Davis and husband Johnny of Germanton; one brother, Burnie Whitten and wife Lo of Titusville, FL.; best friend Dorothy Lewis of Walnut Cove and a host of beloved nieces, nephews and friends. Fulfilling her desire, a visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Burroughs Funeral Home and other times at the home. A special thank you to caregivers Michelle Mabe, Kari Ring Smith and Hospice of Walnut Cove for their kind and compassionate care. Burroughs Funeral Home is serving the Craddock family.
