Description	:	Nancy M. Dixon was born at Plattville, Wisconsin, March 7, 1846. In 1874 she came to Nuckolls county (sic), Nebraska, and lived with an uncle on a farm near where Oak now stands. On June 15, 1876, she was united in marriage to Finley B. Child. To this union two sons were born. On July 2, 1880, death claimed her husband, and she was left alone with the two little boys. Dixon was born at Plattville, Wisconsin, March 7, 1846. In 1874 she came to Nuckolls county (sic), Nebraska, and lived with an uncle on a farm near where Oak now stands. On June 15, 1876, she was united in marriage to Finley B. Child. To this union two sons were born. On July 2, 1880, death claimed her husband, and she was left alone with the two little boys. For six years she struggled against the adversities of frontier life, providing for her little family. On December 1, 1886, she was united in marriage to Albert A. Joy. To this union one daughter was born. The death of her husband on September 17, 1912, again left her in widowhood. After this, she made her home with her daughter who tenderly cared for her in her declining years, and until the end came. She quietly passed away on March 19, 1926, having reached the ripe age of 80 years, 12 days. She was converted in early childhood and lived a consistent, self-sacrificing Christian life. She dearly loved the Bible, and the last words she spoke were quotations of Scripture. She leaves to mourn their loss, three children: Charles Child of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Theron Child of Longford, Kans.; and Mrs. Kate Devore of Nelson, Nebrask (sic). Also three step children, Adelbert Child of Gordon; Myron Joy of Angus; and Mrs. Grace Hamel of Bostwick, Nebraska; and a host of friends. The funeral services were held at Oak M.E. church Sunday, Mrch (sic) 21, conducted by Rev. Beecher of Angus. Interment was made in the Mt. Zion cemetery.
