Reynolds, who departed this life on October 29th last, in the full assurance of a blessed immortality beyond the grave. She was a good wife and mother and a pious christian, uniting herself with the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in early life, was baptized by Rev. J.G. Landrum, remained in that Church till after her marriage, after which she moved her membership with her husband to Middle Tyger, where she remained till her death. She leaves a husband and four little children and a host of friends to mourn her loss, the youngest babe only 8 weeks old. Her husband always had family prayer and when he was absent till after bedtime, she would always read her lesson and have prayer with her children. She was taken sick suddenly and in a little time became speechless, after which she never spoke again. She departed as sweetly and quietly as a babe goes to sleep. She was attended by Dr. J.O. Vernon, who did all he could. She was buried in the cemetery at Middle Tyger. Blessed are the dead who die in the lord. L. Vaughn. ___________________________ NOTES: by Cathy Griffith Nancy's tombstone inscription says "at rest". Her funeral was preached about 4 months after she died. Nancy's birth date in the family Bible was listed as 1844 but on her tombstone it says 1843. {All transcribed by Cathy Griffith)
