Description	:	Nancy P. Thompson, 71 of Rockwell, died Friday, October 23, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center, North Iowa. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Rockwell. Officiating will be Rev. Rhea Evanson. A gathering for family and friends will be held from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday, October 27th, at the church. Inurnment will be in the Rockwell Cemetery following the memorial service. Nancy was born in Mason City on July 8, 1944 to Harvey and Charity (Farthing) Ward. She graduated from Rockwell-Swaledale High School in 1962. Nancy was united in marriage to Steven Thompson on July 26, 1964. To this union were born two children, Debra and Paul. Nancy worked for AMF Skamper motor homes in Mason City and then worked for IMI Cornelius until her retirement. After a brief retirement, she returned to work at the local bank in Rockwell. Nancy and Steve loved to go fishing in Northern Minnesota and Canada. Nancy also enjoyed fishing with her grandchildren. She liked to golf and spend time with her friends. Nancy and Steve looked forward to motorcycle adventures around North Iowa. Her large family and host of friends meant everything to her. Those surviving Nancy include her daughter Debra and husband Lon Hopkey of Ankeny, her son Paul and his wife Jennifer Thompson of Mason City, seven grandchildren, Zachary (Lindsay) Thompson, Sydnie and Brock Thompson, Derick and Sidney Trappe, Evan and Ethan Hopkey, one sister Opal (Don) Brass of Rockwell, four brothers Dennis (Nancy) Ward, Rockwell, Richard (Bernadette) Ward, Apex, NC, Pastor Lester P. (Lora) Ward, Lansing, IL, Tim (Shirley) Ward, St. Michael, MN, two Sister-in-laws, Barb Ward, Ventura, IA, Judy (Jon) Bellomy, Owatonna, MN, and one brother-in-law Jay (Carla) Thompson, Rockwell, and many beloved nieces, nephews and other family members. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Steven in April 2009, by her parents, Parent-in-laws Herald and Hannah Thompson, and two brothers Chris Ward and David Ward in infancy.
