Mrs. Elswick passed away December 8th, 1931 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. B. C. Whitehead. Of late she has made her home intermittently with her daughters, Mrs. Whitehead and Mrs. J. R. McCord. She was one of the pioneers of the Iconium community coming there when a girl of eleven years and remaining in that vicinity all her life. A wide circle of neighbors and friends with the relatives mourn her departure.Obituary Nancy Priscilla Nicholson, daughter of James and Annis Nicholson, was born near Green Castle, Ind., Oct. 16, 1847, and passed away at-the home of her daughter, Mrs. Maude Whitehead, Dec. 8, 1931, at the age of 84 years,one month and 23 days. When eleven years of age she came with her family to a farm 2 ½ miles northwest of Iconium, Iowa, where she grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to B. F. Youngker, Oct. 15, 1875. To this union seven children were born; Iva,,Annis, Eddie, Alcia, Frankie, Maude, and Bennie. She was a devoted mother, sharing equally the love and care she gave her children with her husband's five motherless children. Her loved husband passed away August 20, 1892, when Bennie was only three weeks old. The faith and courage she manifested while passing through this sorrow will always be a precious memory to her family. Dec. 25, 1895, she was united in marriage to James Elswick. In early girlhood she was converted and united with the M. E. Church at Iconium. She was a loving, helpful Christian, giving of herself freely for others. Many a sick room has been blessed by her presence. She found much happiness in trying to make life easier and better for others. She was faithful in attendance at the public worship as long as her health permitted. Only two years ago she had a record of perfect attendance at Sunday School and Ladies Aid for one year. She is survived by her husband, five children, Mrs. Iva Argo, Buckley, Wash., Mrs. Alcia McCord, Mrs.Maude Whitehead, Moravia, Iowa; Mrs. Frankie Vosburg, Bennie Youngker,Phoenix, Arizona; thirteen grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Martha Fuller, McMinnsville, Oregon; also a stepson, Joe Youngker, Long Beach, Calif.; two step-daughter's, Mrs. Winnie Haver and Mrs. Suda Haver of Cushing, Oklahoma. Two children, Annis and Eddie, died in early childhood. CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank all the friends and neighbors for their expressions of sympathy and love during the illness and death of our mother, Mrs. James Elswick, and also for the many beautiful flowers sent during the past month.
