The daughter of Robert and Lela (Beck) Morrison, she was born April 19, 1926 at Morning Sun. On June 12, 1946 she married Steven W. Garland at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. She was a graduate of Morning Sun High School class of 1943; attending Iowa Wesleyan College; was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church; was a member of the Jolly Jokers of Morning Sun; and Civic Music of Burlington. She is survived by her husband, Steven, Morning Sun; a daughter, Judy Lanferman, Rome, Iowa; 2 sons, Robert of Wapello, and Larry, Fort Meyers, Florida; 5 grandchildren; her Mother, Lela Morrison, Morning Sun; 1 brother Robert J. Morrison, Mt. Pleasant. She was preceded in death by her Dad and a sister, Betty Mae. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 21, 2:00 p.m. from the First United Presbyterian Church, Morning Sun, with the Rev. Diane Bishop officiating. Music will be provided by Geneva Samuels, organist. Honorary pallbearers are Archie Wolfe, Lester Biggerstaff and Jack Wheeler. Casketbearers are Bob Samuels, Don Callahan, Duane Swanson, Roger Heitmeier, Bob Bozman and Maurice McDonald. Flower attendants are Wanda Harris, Fern Swanson, Jerrie Wolfe and Shirley Heitmeier. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery, Morning Sun. A memorial has been established. Hagle and Honts Funeral Home, Morning Sun, was in charge of the arrangements.
