She is buried with a child who would appear to be Nancy Jane Stonebraker born in 1859 and died before 1870. Nancy's husband, David Stonebraker, would later marry Amanda E. She is buried with a child who would appear to be Nancy Jane Stonebraker born in 1859 and died before 1870. Nancy's husband, David Stonebraker, would later marry Amanda E. Dunaway between 1864 and 1869. Nancy's father, Robert William Stafford (1801-1879), was the first sheriff of Page County, Iowa. He was given that position in 1851. Her father and his family also lived in Rock Bluff, Cass, Nebraska in 1860. Nancy was the mother of at least eight children with David Stonebraker including: 1. John - b. 1848 and d. before 1860 2. Mahlon - b. 1849 died 1920 in Iowa. 3. Robert W. - b. 1851 died after 1925 4. Samuel P. - b. 1853 died between 1895 and 1900 5. Mary - b.1854 and d. after 1930 m. William McAlpin in 1876 6. Laura J. b. 1857 and d. between 1876 and 1879 m. Thomas Alexander McCulley/McCullough in 1875 7. Nancy Jane b. 1859 and d. before 1870 8. Melvin Coe - b. 1861 and d. 1908 Please note: Cemetery transcription lists her only as "Mrs. Stonebraker daughter of Stafford, Sr." and says she is buried with a child. After extensive research, I have determined that this is Nancy Stafford the first wife of David Stonebraker (1820-1876). They were living in Rock Bluffs, Cass, Nebraska in 1861 and Nancy supposedly died about 1864 there. No dates are listed on her stone.
