Description	:	Mrs. George W. Roundy, a former long time resident of this community, passed away late Wednesday night, Nov. 6th, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chas. Collins, northeast of Beresford. Her death was due to complications incident to her advanced years. Funeral services were held at 1:30 Saturday afternoon at the Wass Funeral Home at Beresford and at 3 o'clock at the Ross Funeral Home in Hawarden. Burial was in the family lot at Grace Hill cemetery. Nancy Wills was born at Jamestown, Wis., Oct. 9, 1850, so was just past 85 years of age at the time of her death. As a small child she came west with her parents to Marshall county, Iowa, where she grew to young womanhood. She was a graduate of Iowa State College at Ames and taught school for a number of years. On Jan. 1, 1878, she was united in marriage with George W. Roundy. They made their home at Marshalltown until the spring of 1892 when they moved to Hawarden. They farmed north of Hawarden for many years and then moved to Hecla, S.D., where they continued farming operations on an extensive scale. In 1922 they retired from active farm work and made their home in Hecla. Mr. Roundy passed away a year or two ago and since that time Mrs. Roundy has made her home with her daughter near Beresford. Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Roundy but two of the preceded her in death. The surviving children are Roy Roundy of Hecla, S.D.; Mrs. Mabel Pierce of Buchanan, N.D.; C.W. Roundy of Heppner, Ore., and Mrs. Alice Collins of Beresford. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The Independent (Hawarden, Iowa) 11/14/1935
