Mrs. Shelley was born in Mullins, SC, a daughter of the late Wroth and Bertie Skipper Hughes. Mrs. Shelley was a lifetime resident of Aynor and a former employee of Anvil Knitwear. She was an avid reader who also enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Read More	Naomi Hughes Shelley, age 86, wife of the late W. R. Shelley, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014 at her daughter's residence. Mrs. Shelley was born in Mullins, SC, a daughter of the late Wroth and Bertie Skipper Hughes. Mrs. Shelley was a lifetime resident of Aynor and a former employee of Anvil Knitwear. She was an avid reader who also enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Shelley was preceded in death by; her daughter, Carol Bonita Todd; her son-in-law, J.C. Todd; her brother, Oren Hughes; and two sisters, Guilantine Johnson and Shirley Cecil Jordan. Survivors include; her daughter, Debra Valdez of Aynor; four grandchildren, Wallace Reggie Gasque of Myrtle Beach, Carol Danette Todd and her friend, Colleen Donovan of Columbia, SC, Donya Danene Baker and her husband, Marshall, of Conway, Donald Eric Gasque and his wife, Andrea, of Conway; three great grandchildren, Ashton O'Malley Baker, Lily Caroline Baker, Savannah Brittan Gasque all of Conway; brother, Aster Hughes of Florence, SC; very special friend, Domingo Valdez of Aynor; and all her special friends from Heartland Hospice; including, Marie Cheatle and Diane Howes. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. Burial will follow at Aynor Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
