Read More	From Nevada Representative September 26, 1906 OBITUARY DEATH OF NATHAN DUNKELBARGER. Mr. Nathan Dunkelbarger died at his home in this city shortly after noon Tuesday. His death was not unexpected, save that in the end he dropped off so suddenly that there was not time to call all the members of his family about him. He had, however, been gradually failing since his collapse on Thursday, and it had been appreciated by all this his days, and even his hours were numbered. Nathan Dunkelbarger was born in Northumberland county, Pennsylvania, July 18, 1825, and died at Nevada, Iowa, September 25, 1906, aged 81 years, 2 months and 7 days. Hew grew us in the state of his nativity and was married at Warren in that state, July 18, 1847, to Miss Mary J. Valentine. They remained in Pennsylvania for about five years but in 1853 removed to Illinois, where they remained for about twelve years, when they removed to Nevada. They remained here, however, but a short time after their first location here, but went the same fall to Hamilton county, where the resided until early in 1867, when they returned to Nevada; and here their home continued as long as they severally lived. During their long residence there they were identified with the Methodist church and with many other worthy causes and were counted always among the substantial people of the community Their home was west of the creek, and there they celebrated in due season both their fortieth anniversary and their golden wedding, both of which occasions are well remembered by those privileged to attend. Mrs. Dunkelbarger died on April 25, 1900; and on the following Christmas Mr. Dunkelbarger was again married, the wedding taking place at Indianola, and the bride being Miss Amelia Lyon, who now survives him. Besides his widow, Mr. Dunkelbarger leaves three children, Mrs. Belle Chapman, wife of Ed. Chapman, Mrs. Medora Hammond, wife of O. S. Hammond, and O. L. Dunkelbarger; also he leaves eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Mr. Dunkelbarger was a worthy and upright citizen, sympathising with the moral aide of what was going on in the community; and death came to him only after he had completed more than four score years and had probably gained from life all of the real enjoyment that here was in it for him. His life was long and it ended really because with years his vital energies had become exhausted. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at two o'clock at the Methodist church and will be conducted by the pastor, Rev. R. E. Shaw.
