He passed away suddenly on Aug 17, and was buried from St. Mary's Catholic church, Storm Lake on Monday, Aug. 21. Interment was at the Auburn cemetery, Auburn, Iowa. On June 16, 1926, he was united in marriage to Marian Hoffman, who preceded him in death on May 23, 1935, to this union three children were born. "Doc", as he was fondly referred to, took up practice in Pocahontas in 1937 and in 1938, he married Marvyl Gillespie O'Rourke. They moved to Renwick where he continued veterinary practice and farmed until 1954. Veterinary Pioneer - Dr. Yarbrough pioneered in several fields connected with veterinary work. After he graduated from St. Joseph's veterinary College in St. Joseph, Mo., in 1920 he went to Pulaski, Tenn. to practice. In 1921 he was offered a position with the Tennessee state dept. of agriculture under the late Governor Alf Taylor, when the program of TB testing cows was initiated. At the end of that administration, Dr. Yarbrough came to Iowa to begin practice in Auburn, where he lived until 1937. In 1954 he retired from regular practice and began work as a Federal Inspector for U.S. Dept. of Agriculture at Vilas and Co., Storm Lake. In 1959 he was transferred to Tennessee where he worked as an inspector at plants in Jamestown, Morristown, Knoxville, and Franklin until his retirement in 1964. Since then he has resided in Tucson, Ariz. He was a member of BPO of Elks, Storm Lake Lodge No. 1636. Contributed by Paul - Nathan had 3 children: Roger N. Yarbrough, a son by his first marriage to Marian Hoffman, born on May 26, 1932 in Auburn, IA (SAC County). Roger died at the age of 67 in 1999 in Suburb of Green Bay, WI; Paul L Yarbrough, a son by his marriage to Marvyl O'Rourke Gillespie, born on October 25, 1939 in Renwick, Iowa (Wright County). He also had a stepson by his marriage to Marvyl O'Rourke. His name was Robert O'Rourke. He was born on September 14, 1934 and died on January 1, 1994 in Houston, TX.
