Description	:	Nat was the son of William Crockett Burchfield and Sarah Ann Clark. He was born 17 Sep 1893 in Carter County, Tennessee. He first married Bess Estelle Hurt on 10 May 1917. They had one son, William Nathaniel Burchfield born in 1918. However, the marriage did not last and by 1920, Nat was back home with his father and reported that he was divorced. In 1951, Bess decided to pursue a formal divorce from Nat and it was granted on the 23 August 1951 in Russell County, Virginia. The grounds for the divorce were "desertion, essentially since 1918". Nat died in 1965 in Elizabethton and is buried in Happy Valley Memorial Park.
