Description	:	POHOCCO PRECINCT ~ "Because of its location on the south bluffs of the Great Platte River Road this precinct developed very early. The Lee Ferry connected it with the settlement of Fremont. Its first post office, called Pohocco, was established Sept. 20, 1869. A second post office about two miles farther south, called Platteville, was established June 20, 1870, with a Mr. Pascoe as postmaster. Mail was brought here three times a week from Ashland. He also operated a small store in the building that served him as residence and post office. This hamlet was on the Postal Route established...
