Grubb, the son of Wiley A. and Jessie (Hanks) Grubb, was born at Tilden, Nebraska on January 17, 1910. He graduated from the Tilden High school, received his BA at the State Teacher's College in Wayne, and received his MA plus graduate work at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO. Grubb, the son of Wiley A. and Jessie (Hanks) Grubb, was born at Tilden, Nebraska on January 17, 1910. He graduated from the Tilden High school, received his BA at the State Teacher's College in Wayne, and received his MA plus graduate work at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO. Neal was married to Marjorie Misfeldt at Winside on June 19, 1936. He was an educator in Nebraska Public Schools for 43 years, serving as superintendent at Winside, Tilden, Minden and Centura Public School at Cairo. He served as District III president of Nebraska State Educational Association, served on the Board of Nebraska Council of Educational Television, and held offices in the Nebraska Association of School Administrators and received the Distinguished Service Award. His affiliations included being a member of the American Legion Post No. 333 at Cairo, member of the Masonic Lodge No 127 A.F. and A.M. at Minden, and a member of the Methodist denomination (church). Neal had been making his home in Lincoln and here he died at St. Elizabeth's Hospital on July 16, 1984. He was 74 years of age. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Ralph, and a sister Myrtle Lindahl.
