Description	:	Necy Lucille Rutledge Chowning went to be with the Lord on Christmas Eve at the age of 94. She was born in Bunker, Missouri, to William Taylor and Luella Stotler Rutledge on May 14, 1916. She spent her school years at Hoxie, Arkansas, moving back to the Birch Tree area in 1933. She met the love of her life, Paul Denver Chowning, at the Birch Tree post office on November 11, 1937, and they were married on December 14, 1940. Read More	Necy Lucille Rutledge Chowning went to be with the Lord on Christmas Eve at the age of 94. She was born in Bunker, Missouri, to William Taylor and Luella Stotler Rutledge on May 14, 1916. She spent her school years at Hoxie, Arkansas, moving back to the Birch Tree area in 1933. She met the love of her life, Paul Denver Chowning, at the Birch Tree post office on November 11, 1937, and they were married on December 14, 1940. In 1943, they moved to Longview, Washington, where they worked for the Longbell Lumber Company providing lumber products for the war effort. They returned to Mountain View in 1946, and bought property north of Mountain View on Y Highway where they built a new home. They raised two daughters there. Necy was a homemaker extraordinare. She gardened and canned and was an exceptional cook and seamstress. She could look at a picture of a dress and replicate it, often without the use of a pattern. Necy loved being a mother to their two daughters, Denise and Paula. She was involved in everything her girls were involved in. She was a Home Room Mother, a Girl Scout Leader, and a 4-H leader. After her girls were grown, she volunteered with the Mountain View Elementary School as a Room Mother for the special education classes, and to help strengthen the reading program at the Elementary School. Later in life, she volunteered for the Feed Bank, the Blood Bank, and the Mountain View Senior's Center for over 20 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul, and her brothers and sisters, Doc, Bunt, Harry, Fern, Rube, Elree, Berniece, Tootie, and Merrell. She is survived by her daughters, Denise Carr (Joe Campos) of Arroyo City, Texas, Paula and husband Mike Rodriguez of Pflugerville, Texas, five grandchildren, Renee and husband Karl Fowler of Hernando, Mississippi, Cathleen Laster of Memphis, Tennessee, Russell Walker and wife Lisa of Memphis, Tennessee, Gabriel Wouk of Springfield, Missouri, and Isaac Wouk of St. Louis, Missouri, and three great-grandchildren, Leslie, Robert, and Aaron. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who thought of her as a second mother. Yarber Mortuary Dec. 26, 2010
