He was retired from Bell South with 40 years of service. He was a member of New Sharon United Methodist Church and a member of Schley Grange. Surviving are his wife, Lola Miller Blackmon Walker of the home; daughter, Carol Walker Dawson and fiancée Don Medlin of Hillsborough; son, Mark Walker and wife, Cindy Sykes Walker of Hillsborough; stepson, Albert Holloman and wife Susie of Greenville; stepson, Richard Holloman and wife Julia of Wilmington; grandchildren, Jason Dawson... Surviving are his wife, Lola Miller Blackmon Walker of the home; daughter, Carol Walker Dawson and fiancée Don Medlin of Hillsborough; son, Mark Walker and wife, Cindy Sykes Walker of Hillsborough; stepson, Albert Holloman and wife Susie of Greenville; stepson, Richard Holloman and wife Julia of Wilmington; grandchildren, Jason Dawson and wife Holly, Justin Walker, Kelley Walker, Tiffany Long, Tabitha Long, Kimberly Long and Seth, Millie, Brent, Anna and Katie Holloman; brothers, Allen Walker of Jacksonville, Fla., William Walker of Hillsborough; sister, Elizabeth Carter of Graham. Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his first wife Evelyn Miller Walker; his parents Ad and Donnie Walker, and by six sisters and three brothers. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2004, at New Sharon United Methodist Church with the Rev. Carl Belcher officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
