She was a resident of Allegany Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, Cumberland Born in Cumberland, on July 21, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Earnest T. Read More	Nedra (GG) Tyrnida Santmyire DeVore Lepley Hardy Jul 21, 1928 - Jan 27, 2017 CUMBERLAND — Nedra (GG) Tyrnida Santmyire, DeVore, Hardy, 88 of Cumberland, formerly of Oldtown, passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2017. She was a resident of Allegany Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, Cumberland Born in Cumberland, on July 21, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Earnest T. Santmyire and Mary Ann (Cowgill) Santmyire. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Franklin E. DeVore, Eugene S. Lepley, and Loyd P. Hardy; son, Ronald E. DeVore; grandson, Robert Paul Keel; son-in-law, James Joiner; brothers, William Santmyire and Sarah, Richard Santmyire and wife, Elaine, and Thomas Santmyire and wife, Bonnie; and sisters, Louise Stansberry and husband, Howard, Odessa Hardy and husband, Lloyd, Vertis Abe and husband, James, and Wanda Herrell and husband, Robert. Nedra attended Flintstone Elementary School through the fourth grade. She was a member of Oldtown, Bethel Assembly of God Church; she taught Sunday school there most of her life. She was an active member of Women's Missions, choir, Prime Timers, and was a mentor to many members of her church and community. She was employed at The Packing Shed in her early years. She was then a homemaker and loving mother, as well as a mother figure to many. She was also self employed as a daycare provider, a Kindergarten bus aid for the Allegany County School system, an employee of Bauchman's Surplus, Reygold Cabinet Making, Microdyne Corp. and Kasecamp Kayak's and Cabinets. She loved to decorate, crochet, cook, bake, and spend time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also known as "Grandma" to many children throughout her life. Nedra is survived by four daughters, Symantha Kay Kerns and husband, Leon, Hagerstown, Belinda Andrews and husband, Nathan, Carpendale, W.Va., Tammy Gish, Cumberland, and E. Denise Pereschuk and husband, Harold, Waynesboro, Pa.; sister, Cleo Eaton and husband, Marshall, Paw Paw, W.Va.; daughter-in-law, Linda DeVore, LaVale; grandchildren, Todd Kerns and wife, Kathy, Christie Kelly and husband, Neil, Dana Peake, Thomas DeVore and wife, Sylvia, Bryant Joiner, Nicole Snyder, Jessica Keel, Alicia Joiner, Miranda Wyant and husband, Jason, Bethany Tene and husband, Yanick, and Zachary Andrews; great-grandchildren, Matthew Kerns, Danielle Kerns, McKenzie Kelly, Mariah Kelly, Neil Kelly, Kristen Peake, Brandon Peake, Sarah Peake, Shane DeVore, Jazlin DeVore, Lorelai DeVore, Kingston Viglianco, Juelz Combs, Makhalah Moore, Annabelle Wyant, Parker Wyant, Leia Tene, and Nicholas Joiner. Family and friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Monday, Jan. 30, 2017, from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017, at noon. Friends will be received one hour prior to the services. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Robert Herrell, Nathan Andrews, John Herrell, Yanick Tene, Bryant Joiner, and Mike Santmyire. The family request that, in lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Nedras memory do so by making contributions to the Oldtown Bethel Assembly of God Church.
