Description	:	Mr. Savage was born May 26, 1871, in Leeds, P.Q., Canada, to James and Christena McKinnon Savage. He came to Lancaster when about 21 years of age to work on the Maine Central Railroad at Coos Junction and later was agent at Bailey Station. He lived in Riverton for 44 years. He served three years as selectman of Jefferson, was R.F.D. carrier at Riverton for 19-1/2 years, and also carried on a dairy farm. The past eight years he had lived in Lancaster. He was a member of the Lancaster Methodist Church and an honorary trustee of the St.... Read More	Mr. Savage was born May 26, 1871, in Leeds, P.Q., Canada, to James and Christena McKinnon Savage. He came to Lancaster when about 21 years of age to work on the Maine Central Railroad at Coos Junction and later was agent at Bailey Station. He lived in Riverton for 44 years. He served three years as selectman of Jefferson, was R.F.D. carrier at Riverton for 19-1/2 years, and also carried on a dairy farm. The past eight years he had lived in Lancaster. He was a member of the Lancaster Methodist Church and an honorary trustee of the St. Joh's Methodist Church in Jefferson, a charter member and Past Grand of the Mt. Jefferson Lodge of Odd Fellows, of Jefferson, a member of No. Star Lodge of Masons, Lodge of Perfection, and a member of Olive Branch Chapter, O.E.S., of Lancaster. On Dec. 21, 1898, he was married to Etta F. Remick who survives him. He leaves two sons, Gordon J. Savage of Riverton and Norman A. Savage of Manchester; three grandchildren; four brothers, Hugh Savage of Coleman, Alberta, Can., John Savage, Garber, Okla., Dan M. Savage, Langley Prairie, British Columbia, and James Savage, St. Mary's, Ontario; and two sisters, Mrs. Janet campbell, Riverbend, Que., and Mrs. Christina Remick of Lancaster. Burial was in the family lot at Riverton Cemetery. The bearers were: Foster Morton, Edgar Stewart, Charles MacLean, Frank Kenison, Francils Bailey and Leigh Bacon. Committal services were performed at eh gave by Mt. Jefferson Lodge of Odd Fellows. Among those from out of town who attended the services were James Savage, St. Marys, Not.; Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. MacLean, Lowell, Mass.; Rev. and Mrs. Walter A. Morgan, Bedford; Mr. an Mrs. Norman A. Savage and Miss Eleanor Savage, Manchester, and Walter F. Cooley, Newport, Vt.
