Mrs. Broesder was born Neisselina Molenburg on Oct. 14, 1884, in Groenigen, Netherlands. She died June 8, 1979, in Big Sandy. Prior to her death she had been living at the Home of the Good Shepherd in Havre for three years and several years before with daughters Ann or Nesselina of Big Sandy, or son, Henry, of Conrad. In 1910 Grandma first came to the United States with her two oldest children to join her husband Eizoo. They homesteaded 14 miles west of Conrad, where they raised a total of six children. Grandma developed a deep love for her adopted homeland and the people. Along with times of success and happiness, over the years she faced many heartaches and troubles with indomitable strength and a growing sense of basic human goodness which was expressed in her constant personal dignity and realistically optimistic philosophy. In the early forties, Eizoo and Neisselina left the Conrad area to ranch south of Big Sandy at Virgelle. After a short retirement in Great Falls in the middle fifties, they bought a ranch on Birch Creek northwest of Dupuyer and maintained a home in Conrad, where Eizoo died in Feb. 1961. Neisselina then returned to Big Sandy. Grandma Broesder is survived by daughters Barbara Witt of Fort Benton, Ann Turk and Helen Terry of Big Sandy; sons, John of Lincoln and Henry of Conrad; 29 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
