Description	:	BLACKSBURG, SC-- Nell Frances Byers Bridges, 90, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 7, 2009 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was the widow of J. B. Lawrence Bridges, after a marriage of 56 years. Born June 28, 1918, she was the daughter of James Fred and Clara Blanche Borders Byers. She was a worker in the fields at her home with her husband, a seamstress, and dedicated her life to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Read More	BLACKSBURG, SC-- Nell Frances Byers Bridges, 90, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 7, 2009 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was the widow of J. B. Lawrence Bridges, after a marriage of 56 years. Born June 28, 1918, she was the daughter of James Fred and Clara Blanche Borders Byers. She was a worker in the fields at her home with her husband, a seamstress, and dedicated her life to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook and baked many, many homemade biscuits and chocolate cakes. If anyone ever stopped at her home, she always had something to serve. She was a loving caregiver to her mother, mother-in-law, and her sister. She loved working in her yard, tending to her flowers and tomatoes. She was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church, but had not been able to attend for many years. She studied her Sunday School lesson every week and was a dedicated Bible reader. On Sunday mornings, she always watched Dr. Don Wilton of First Baptist Church, Spartanburg and called him her pastor. Mrs. Bridges was predeceased by two sisters, Norris Byers, who died at 4 years of age; and Peggy Byers McBrayer; a brother, Fred Logan Byers; and a son-in-law, Don Lewis Wilkins. Interment: Buffalo Baptist Church Cemetery.
