She passed away on December 4, 2001. Anne continued to demonstrate perseverance and tenacity even at the end of her life. She is the loving wife of David Steinhoff; daughter of Elihu and Alice Ashley; mother of Daniel Steinhoff (Anne) of Omaha, NE; Gary Steinhoff (Terry) of University Place; Dianne Young (John) of Bakersfield, CA and Donna Wilson (Steve) of Sumner. She had seven grandchildren. Anne was born on a farm in Ashton, Idaho on March 1, 1924. She later moved to Dayton, WA and then Napavine, WA where she met her life long mate. They were married on March 14, 1942. Anne and David moved to the home they purchased in Tacoma in May of 1953, her final home in this life. Anne was a founding member of Parkland Christian Church, a church that began its new life in her living room. She continued to be an active member throughout her life and counted many of its members as her closest of friends. A celebration of Anne’s life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2001 at Parkland Christian Church, 12305 Spanaway Loop Road South in Parkland. Viewing is from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2001 at Fir Lane, 924 176th E. in Spanaway. Donations in memory of Anne can be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation.
