Mrs. Nellie Anderson, the only daughter of Luther and Lydia Patterson, was born in Glover, Sept. 17, 1866. Her early life was spent on the farm with her parents. The whole community was saddened when it was learned that* Mrs. Armour Anderson* had died on Tuesday evening, Jan. 5, 1915. Mrs. Nellie Anderson, the only daughter of Luther and Lydia Patterson, was born in Glover, Sept. 17, 1866. Her early life was spent on the farm with her parents. On Jan. 6, 1886, she was married Armour Anderson of Glover and if she had lived until Wednesday, it would have been their 29th wedding anniversary. Two sons were born to them, Clyde, who lives near South Albany and Lynn, who is now on the home place. During the past summer Mrs. Anderson had not been in her usual health and about first of October, by the advice of physicians, she entered the Brightlook hospital at St. Johnsbury for treatment. Upon trying to operate, the doctors found she had a cancer on the liver and the operation could not be performed. She rallied from this so she could be brought home the latter part of the month, but the terrible disease could not be conquered and she suffered untold agony to the end. She was a very pleasant woman to meet, always obliging and ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in rouble. So it was a comfort to her in her last illness that so many friends from far and near came to see her and help to pass away the weary hours of suffering. She was conscious to the end and expressed her willingness to go. The funeral was held from her late home on Thursday. Jan. 7, the officiating clergyman being the Rev. I. P. Chase of Albany. A large concourse of relatives and friends from Barton, Orleans. Albany, Glover and Craftsbury gathered to pay their last respects to one who just in the prime of life, gave up her earthly career for a heavenly home. The flowers were many and beautiful, silent tokens of love for the one who has gone. The interment was in the Andersonville cemetery. She leaves besides her husband her mother, two sons, Clyde and Lynn with their families, and a brother, E.W.Patterson, who was ill at his home in Massachusetts, and unable to attend the funeral. The entire community extend deepest sympathy to the bereaved ones." (Orleans County Monitor, 1/27/1915)
