While it was known that she had been in a critical condition for several days, there was a feeling of hope that she would win in the struggle but from Sunday on there was but little upon which to base such hopes. She was stricken with influenza, which developed into its dangerous form and despite the best efforts of medical skill and care, her life could not be saved. Pitiful indeed was the situation at the Riefenrath (sic) home. The husband and father was suddenly taken ill Sunday morning and the four little children also sick in bed, made it a most sad and sorrowful home. The funeral of Mrs. Reifenrath was held Tuesday afternoon, there being no public services. Rev. Boscheck held a prayer service at the home and at the cemetery. Mr. Reifenrath, who was stricken so suddenly and severely is at last reports somewhat better and the children are all much improved. The heartfelt sympathy of the entire community go out to the bereaved husband and children and to the aged parents of Mrs. Reifenrath, Mr. and Mrs. Casey, whose grief in this sudden sorrow is most pathetic.
