They had 5 children together. In 1915, when she was 28, Archie left her and she committed suicide by jumping in the Platte River. She tied two of her daughters, Bessie (3 yrs) and Helen (2 yrs), to her body, taking them to their deaths along with hers. Her story is tragic.
