(Special Dispatch)--Mrs. Helen (sic) Mace Veeder, 68, died Saturday afternoon in a Grand Island nursing home after a lingering illness. She had been bedfast for three months. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 tomorrow afternoon from the Baptist church here, with the Rev. F. L. Gilson of Grand Island officiating. Burial will be in the Cairo cemetery. Born Sept. 19, 1873, at Hamburg, Ia., Mrs. Veeder moved with her parents as a girl to Missouri, and was married at St. Joseph, Mo, Sept. 3, 1901, to Wyatt (sic) Veeder. They came to Nebraska in the fall of 1902 and settled near Cairo. She was member of the Christian church in girlhood, but joined the Baptist church at Cairo. She also was a long-time member of the Rebekah lodge. Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Merrill Winn, Bassett, Neb., and Mrs. Harold Schlund, Cairo; three sons, Paul Veeder, Los Angeles; Homer Veeder, Oshkosh, Neb.; and Milton Veeder, Cairo; a brother, John Mace, Omaha; two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Bond, Omaha, and Mrs. Jane Jones, Fairfax, Mo.; 19 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
