Nellie Belle Shutters, the daughter of the late William and Martha Shutters, was born in Clarence on Nov. 26, 1874. She grew to young womanhood here and on Nov. 29, 1893 she was married to Arthur Felker who preceded her on Nov. 26, 1936. Felker, Former Resident, Buried Here. 1954 Mrs. Arthur Felker of Vandalia, former Clarence resident, passed away Thursday night in the Britton Nursing Home at Laddonia following injuries sustained recently in a fall. Nellie Belle Shutters, the daughter of the late William and Martha Shutters, was born in Clarence on Nov. 26, 1874. She grew to young womanhood here and on Nov. 29, 1893 she was married to Arthur Felker who preceded her on Nov. 26, 1936. The home was made in Clarence for many years where two children were born, a son, Roland who died in infancy, and a daughter, Mrs. Madison (Marie) Browne of Vandalia with whom she made her home. She was an active member of the Methodist Church and Sunday school and was presented with a 50-year pin two years ago as a member of the Clarence Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Madison Browne of Vandalia and other relatives. Last rites were conducted Sunday afternoon from the Vandalia Methodist Church by the Rev. Maurice F. Magers at 1:30 o'clock. The funeral cortege arrived in Clarence about 4 o'clock and a short service was conducted at Center Street Methodist Church by members of O.E.S., followed by commitment prayers in Maplewood Cemetery.
