Organist was Doreen Beyer, who accompagnied the spacial music as they sang, "Life's Short Day" and "Time is Passing". Casketbearers were Herbert Noteboom, Russell Te Grotenhuis, Joubert Wassenaar, Bert Bartels, Harry Kuhl and Herman Fedders. Burial was at the Sioux Center Community Cemetery. Mrs. John Nyhof, nee Nellie Faber, was born November 6, 1900, at Sioux Center, Iowa, where she grew to womanhood and on February 22, 1922 she was united in marriage to John Nyhof of Sioux Center. They farmed in the Rock Valley and Sioux Center areas until their retirement. Two daughters were born to this union, Janet (Mrs. Henry Schouten) of Boyden, and Marlene (Mrs. Charles Banks) of El Paso, Texas, and one son who preceded her death in 1934 at the age of six years. Survivors are her husband, two daughters, four grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Martin Wierda and Mrs. Dick Doornink, both of Sioux Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother. Mrs. Nyhof was faithful in her Christian faith. She was called quietly to her heavenly home Wednesday morning, January 15, 1969, at her home in Sioux Center. Her sudden passing is mourned by a host of relatives and friends.
