Description	:	On Monday, January 18, 2010 our dear Mother, Grandmother and friend, N. Hope Fisher, a longtime Sedro-Woolley resident, passed away at the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley surrounded by her loving family. She was 88 years of age. Hope Fisher, a longtime Sedro-Woolley resident, passed away at the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley surrounded by her loving family. She was 88 years of age. Hope was born in Lyman, Washington, on October 11, 1921, the daughter of Harley & Nellie McConnell. She was raised and attended grade school in the Utopia area east of Sedro-Woolley and graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School with the class of 1939. On May 10, 1939 Hope was united in marriage to Wilfred Fisher in Mount Vernon and they made their home in the Skagit Valley for 50 years until Wilfred's death in 1989. She continued to reside at the family home until her recent passing. Hope retired from National Frozen Foods Cannery in Burlington where she worked at the cannery for over 20 years. She also was an Avon representative for over 40 years. Hope loved gardening and after she was unable to care for her own flower gardens she made sure they were cared for properly; Hope loved her flower gardens. She was an avid reader, and shopped aggressively at Value Village looking for things that she could not live without. She was also a charter member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Sedro-Woolley and very active with 1939 classmates who have been gathering each month for many years. Hope is survived by her children and their spouses, Sharon & Luther Self, Keith & Mary Fisher, Sally & Jerry Hoegemeyer, Ron Fisher, and Sandra Vander Veen & her fiancé Chad Dodd, all of Sedro-Woolley. Thirteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, all who had a very special place in her heart; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilfred; brother, Ray McConnell; infant brother, Paul McConnell; two sisters, Hazel Siddens and Faith Tate and a grandson, Shawn Foster. Funeral Services for Hope will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley with her son, Keith Fisher officiating. Interment will follow at the Lyman Cemetery. A fellowship will be at the Sedro-Woolley Community Church. Visitation will be available Wednesday thru Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Lemley Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley. (Obituary published in Skagit Valley Herald, 01/20/2010.
