Description	:	Nellie Ivey Steagall, age 95, of 106 James St., Union, widow of J.W. Steagall, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Mrs. Steagall was born March 16, 1926 in Union, a daughter of the late Dorsey Douglas Ivey and Dora Horne Ivey. She was a graduate of Union High School and attended Cecil's Business College. Mrs. Steagall was retired from the South Carolina Probation and Parole Office at the Union County Court House. Mrs. Steagall was born March 16, 1926 in Union, a daughter of the late Dorsey Douglas Ivey and Dora Horne Ivey. She was a graduate of Union High School and attended Cecil's Business College. Mrs. Steagall was retired from the South Carolina Probation and Parole Office at the Union County Court House. She was a longtime member of Westside Baptist Church where she had served in many capacities. The family is blessed to have had Nellie as a loving mother, sister, and aunt for all her 95 years. Surviving are a son, Gerald D. Steagall of Union and a sister, Evelyn Crocker of Mooresville, NC. She had a special place in her heart and was close to all her nieces and nephews, especially Darlene and Leslie. She was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Carolyn H. Steagall; two brothers, Bobby Ivey and George Ivey; and a sister, Dorothy Petty. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Robert Scott. The following are asked to serve as the honorary escort, Donnie Horne, Robert Palmer, and Donnie Vinson. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the cemetery.
