THE PAWNEE CHIEF (Pawnee City, Nebraska)- Wednesday, August 6, 1942- Page 1. MRS. A. J. NILES PASSED AWAY SUNDAY The many friends of Mrs. A. J. Niles in this community learned with sorrow of her passing at the hospital in this city Saturday. She had been in a serious condition for some time and no hope was held for her recovery. Mrs. Niles had been a resident of Pawnee county for nearly half a century and for the past thirty-sic years had lived in this community. She was a woman held in high esteem by all who knew her, a christian woman and as long as health permitted, took an active part in the activities of her church. She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Mrs. De Los Greer, Omaha; a son, Rex, of Lincoln; four sisters, Mrs. E. H. Beamer, Burchard; Mrs. C. A. Bush, Lincoln; Mrs. B. C. Wischmeier, Burchard; Mrs. W. L. Dunten, Beaver Crossing; and two brothers, F. A. Sloan, Lincoln, and Roy Sloan, Pawnee City. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Pawnee City Monday afternoon, Rev. w. N. Wallis officiating. Interment was in the Pawnee City cemetery.
