Description	:	NELLIE PURVIANCE SERVICES HELD -- Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Purviance, 93, were held at Washington Chapel on Tuesday, Jan. 25, with Charles Conger officiating. Earle Reves sang "Precious Memories" and "How Great Thou Art", accompanied by Mrs. Harold Wicks, organist. Casket bearers were Leo Klockentager, Danny Anderson, Merlin Royer, Dale Harrison, George Repp, and Verle Wicks. Interment was at the Brethren Cemetery near Panther. Fouch Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. Mrs. Purviance was born Feb. 24, 1872 in Boone County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Parmer McDowell. She attended school in Angus and Perry, and was graduated from the Boone Normal School after which she taught in the Berkley and Pleasant Hill Schools. On May 21, 1894 she was married to Robert K. Purviance and they farmed in Wash. Twp. After Mr. Purviance's death in 1933, she continued to live on the farm until about two years ago when she moved to the Lutheran Home in Perry. She passed away Jan. 22. Mrs. Purviance was a member of Washington Chapel where she served faithfully for many years. She is survived by four sons: O.K. Purviance and F. S. Purviance, both of Perry; Paul of Minburn and Rex of Ames; a brother, Walter McDowell of Burns, Wyo.; two sisters, Mrs. May Sheehy of Perry and Mrs. John Davis of Gettysburg, Pa. Also seven grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
