August 7, 2002 ******** Nebraska City News-Press; September 9, 2011 Nellie Mae Ramold, 96, of Sevierville, Tenn., and formerly of Nebraska City, died at Sevierville Sept. 7, 2011. She was born May 21, 1915 at the family home in rural Nebraska City to Louis and Mamie (Johnson) Kopf. She married Robert Edward Ramold, who preceded her in 1989. She is survived by daughters Sherrie and JoAnn; sister-in-law Helen; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was also preceded by son Robert L. Ramold, and sisters Ruth Casey, Marie Redding, Anne Brod, Helen Cooper and Doris Giles. She lived in the Nebraska City area most of her life and moved to Tennessee several years ago to live near her daughter, Sherrie. She had lived in the Mountain Brook Retirement Community and later in the Ft. Sanders Sevier Nursing Home, both in Sevierville. She worked as a seamstress in a coat factory in Nebraska City for over 35 years before retirement. Everyone who knew Nellie loved her for her wonderful sense of humor, compassion, and kindness to all, and she loved a good game of bingo with friends. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the Riverton Cemetery in Riverton, Iowa.
