Born April 30, 1928, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Harvey A. and Mollie F. (Clites) Sachs. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alva R. Gear; two brothers, Denver Sachs, Edward Sachs, and one sister, Delphy M. Peer. Mrs. Gear was a member of Faith Assembly of God Church, Wiley Ford and was the head of the Womens Group. Her church family... Read More	WILEY FORD, W.Va. — Nellie M. Gear, 81, of Wiley Ford, W.Va., went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. Born April 30, 1928, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Harvey A. and Mollie F. (Clites) Sachs. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alva R. Gear; two brothers, Denver Sachs, Edward Sachs, and one sister, Delphy M. Peer. Mrs. Gear was a member of Faith Assembly of God Church, Wiley Ford and was the head of the Womens Group. Her church family was a source of great strength to her and the joy of her life. Nellie was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. Surviving are, a daughter, Linda Ward, of Short Gap; a son, Kevin Gear and wife Brenda, of Cumberland; one sister, Nina Houdersheldt, of Ridgeley; a special sister-in-law, Marion Sachs, of Wiley Ford; five grandchildren, Bethany, Autumn, Shayna, Katelyn and Shalyn, and two great-grandchildren, Ashlyn and Brayden. A memorial service will be held in Faith Assembly of God Church, Wiley Ford, on Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. James Blubaugh and Pastor Jack Street officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Friday from noon to 1 p.m. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland (www.scarpellifuneralhomes.com) is handling the arrangements.
