Mrs. and Mrs. Jess joined the Legion and Auxiliary shortly after the organizations were stared in Pateros, and Mrs. Jess served as president twice, the last time for a two-year term. All of her daughters are Auxiliary members, too. Surviving are her husband; one son, Norman Jess, Pateros; three daughters, Mrs. Don Marsh and Mrs. Demster Daniels, both of Pateros, and Mrs. Jerry Gaston, Twisp; four sisters, Mrs. A J Johnston and Mrs. William Suchan, both of Twisp; Mrs. Harry Bigelow, Kirkland and Mrs. Perry Huston, Yakima; one brother, Clarence Beeman, Arcata, California and twelve grandchildren.
