Read More	The Hooper Sentinel January 1, 1914 Biographical Sketches of Pioneer Women Now Living in Hooper Mrs. Oscar Bergquist Miss Nellie Nelson was born in Christanstad, Sweden in July, 1844. She came to this country in a sailing vessel in 1864 and first locating in Galway, Ill. She was married there to Oscar Bergquist in 1869 and in October of the same year they came to Nebraska and homesteaded a farm about 9 miles north of Hooper where they resided for twenty years. In September 1909 they removed to our little city purchasing a nice residence in the east part of town, where she still lives. Mr. Bergquist died July 26, 1910. She is the mother of five children. One, Eddie passed to the great unknown fifteen years ago. Mrs. Adella Uehling of Walthill, Abner of this vicinity, Henning on the home place and Mrs. Alvilda Olson of Bancroft. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ The Hooper Sentinel Dec. 22, 1921 Died - Mrs. Nellie Bergquist, 77, on Dec. 19, 1921 at Hooper. Nellie Nelson was born at Wauneberg, Winslof, Socken Christionstad, Sweden on July 11, 1844. She emigrated in 1864 to Moline IL and here she married Oscar A. Bergquist in 1869. In Oct. of 1869 they came to Dodge County NE. Mr. Bergquist died in 1910 at Hooper. Four of five children survive: Mrs. John Uehling of Rosalie; Mrs. Ben Olson of Bancroft; Henning and Abner of Hooper. She was buried at the Swaburg cemetery.
