Anders, the eldest of three brothers, emigrated to America in 1909, Andreas in 1910, and following in the footsteps of his two older brothers, Nils sailed in 1912 on the Mauretania arriving New York April 19th. In America, Nils became Nels Andersen Flansaas. Nels was naturalized in Phillips County, Montana July 30, 1917.* Nels was seriously injured about 1917, losing a leg [or both as some heard].
