Peterson Called by Reaper Well Know Resident of Many Years Dies Following Illness of Many Years. Death came to Nels H.Peterson at his home on Sixteenth street at an early hour Thursday morning. The exact time of his death will not be known, since he was alone in the room when the end came. He was discovered by Mrs. Peterson at about seven o'clock and had not been dead long, so it is believed that his passing occurred between the hours of six and seven. Some years ago Mr. Peterson's health became impaired and a severe surgical operation was necessary. He mad a very fair recovery from the operation and since that time had been able to be downtown and meet his friends almost daily. There were times, however, when he was not so well and when he had to be under treatment at home. During the past two weeks he had been unable to make his accustomed trips over town and had been under doctor's care. Wednesday night Mr. Peterson spent a restless night, arising several times during the night and moving about the house. The wife heard him again about 4:30 Thursday morning. When she entered the dining room at about seven she found his body on the floor. Mr. Peterson came to Hamilton county from Leland, Illinois, in 1890 and retired from the farm to make his home in Aurora, he and Mrs. Peterson coming to town 22 years ago. He was an industrious and upright citizen with a very wide rand of acquaintances. He had been a warm friend of Hon. John A. Whitmore since their boyhood days in Illinois. He was 78 years of age and is survived by the widow and six sons and daughters. Funeral arrangements had not been announced Thursday evening, the relatives here awaiting the arrival of the son at Fremont and the daughter at Pierce.
