Born June 30, 1877, in Wahoo, Mr. Hansen had lived in Fremont for the past nine years. He lived in Wahoo until he was six years old and then moved with his parents to the western part of the state to a homestead. Read More	Fremont Tribune, Fremont, NE - Tue, 7 Sept 1948 Nels Hansen, of 1214 North Platte, 71 year old carpenter, died at a local hospital Tuesday morning following a seven months illness. Born June 30, 1877, in Wahoo, Mr. Hansen had lived in Fremont for the past nine years. He lived in Wahoo until he was six years old and then moved with his parents to the western part of the state to a homestead. In 1900, the Hansens moved to Ithaca where Mr. Hansen lived until 1910 when he joined the Marine Corps. After serving eight years in the Marine Corps, he received his discharge and was employed by a Wahoo construction company. In 1939 he and his wife Edna came to Fremont. He was a member of the Wahoo Methodist church. Seven months ago, he received neck and back injuries in a fall from a scaffolding and was in poor health since then. He was taken to the hospital Saturday. Included among the survivors are his widow, Edna; three daughters, Mrs. Stanley Hunter of Rochester, Minn., Mrs. Walter Bigelow of Stewartville, Minn. and Mrs. Merle Scott of Fremont; two sons, Warren and Nels jr., both of Fremont; seven grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Elmer Bader, Fremont; five brothers, Hans of Wahoo, Andrew, Sinclair and Dewey, all of Lincoln, and Col.
