He is survived by his daughter Sarah Jensen, her partner Josh Amato, and their children: Anna, Audrey and William Amato. He is survived by his youngest child, Erik Jensen and his partner Jennifer Dudnam. He was preceded in his death by his eldest son Shaun Douglas Jensen. Nels was born December 19, 1932 and raised on his father's farm in Norma, ND. He cherished his years working on the farm with his father Nels P. Jensen. His mother, Jennie (Ostenrude) Jensen died prior to Nels' first birthday. Nels' father remarried Alice (Heggen) Jensen in 1941 and three children were born, Arlene, Ione and Neil Jensen extending Nels' immediate family. Prior to obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Business Education from Minot State University, Nels was enlisted in the Army and stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He worked in the Civil Service in Saint Louis, Missouri where he met Judith Ann Moreno and they were married at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Kenmare, ND on March 20, 1965. They had three children and raised them in Las Vegas, Nevada. This marriage ended in divorce on 27 October 1982 at Las Vegas. Nels spent the majority of his career working for the Internal Revenue Service in the Treasury Department as a Special Agent. He retired after many years of service. During his life, he was an outsdoorsman and active in may activities including: camping, fishing, hunting and skiing. He loved sharing these experiences with family. He spent the last decade of his life with his family; he often relived memories of his youth, particularly his years spent farming in North Dakota. He was an avid reader of the Kenmare News and maintained his subscription through his later years; the paper helped to bring him closer to home. A service and burial of his remains are planned for a future date at the Zion Danish Lutheran Cemetery in Rockford Township, (near Norma) North Dakota, where he will rest by his parents. The funeral service and burial for Nels Jr. Jensen was held on November 21, 2015 at 1:00 at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Norma, ND.
