Burial was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. Nelson Boyd Smith, son of Henry and Rosa Smith, was born on a farm east of Victor, March 10, 1902. He received his education in rural schools and Victor public schools. On April 8, 1928 he was united in marriage to Virginia Rohrer of Victor and to this union three children were born. He farmed as long as his health permitted. Last August he went to Santa Ana, Calif. to spend the winter with his family. On Nov. 2 he suffered a heart attack and was taken to a hospital. He passed away several hours later, having attained the age of 61 years, 7 months and 22 days. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Virginia; two sons, Gene of Orange, Calif. and Ted, who is with the army in Korea; and one daughter, Carole Jean, Mrs. Richard DeCoster of Orange, Calif; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mabel Smith of Houston, Tex. and Blanche, Mrs. Pete Peterson of Victor; other relatives and many friends.
