Read More	The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE) Fri., Jan 18, 1946 - Page 1 Nelson E Jacobs Nelson E Jacobs was born near Pierpont, Ohio, August 2, 1861, and passed away January 10, 1946, at the age of 84 years, five months and eight days, In May of 1873 he came to Nebraska with his parents and in his lifetime saw the change from the open prairie to the farming country this now is. He was married to Allie Carr on May 29, 1891. To this union were born three sons, William, Wesley and Vernon, William dying in infancy. Most of his active years were spent in or near Edgar as he engaged in farming or followed the carpenter trade. He held membership in the Methodist Church and was faithful and active in church work so long as health permitted. Surviving him are his wife, two sons, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Memory will cherish him as a kind and loving husband and father and a true friend to those who knew him well. Funeral services were held in the Edgar Methodist Church, Saturday, January 12, 1946, at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. S. W. Longacre in charge. Mrs. E. J. Mort, Mrs. L. B. Dalton, Ervin Essinger and M. E. Cushing sang "Abide in Jesus," "Abide With Me" and "Sweet Bye and Bye," with Mrs. Lydia Phelps at the piano. Pallbearers were: Bert Rydholm, John Johnson, S. L. Overturf, C. H.
