Description	:	Nelson James Robar 74 of Hebbville, formally of Conquerall Bank, and Blockhouse, passed away peacefully on August 28th 2010 in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater surrounded by his loved ones after a long and courageous illness. Born in North River on July 19 1936 he was a son of the late Edwin and Amy (Daniels) Robar. Nelson was known for cooking large meals which stemmed from his younger years while working as a cook with Bowater Mersey in the logging camps. Born in North River on July 19 1936 he was a son of the late Edwin and Amy (Daniels) Robar. Nelson was known for cooking large meals which stemmed from his younger years while working as a cook with Bowater Mersey in the logging camps. Before retirement Nelson became a skilled carpenter which many people admired, and enjoyed his woodwork. He also enjoyed fishing with his partner Gladys, also hunting with his many friends, and brothers. Nelson was a member of the Rod and Gun Club. Nelson is survived by his companion and best friend, Gladys (Feener) who cared for him endlessly throughout his long stay in hospital. Sons, Arleigh (Shirley) Middle LaHave, Marshall (Nancy) Bridgewater. Sisters, Marion (Martin) Uhlman, Westville Queens Co., Monica (Charles) Zinck ,Chicago, USA, Joan (Guy) Sproule, Springfield, Lila Sproule (Freamond Dennis), Judy (Paul) Robar, both from North River. Brothers, Vincent (Sylvia), North River, Bernie (Heather) Oakhill, Delbert (Gloria), Springfield. Many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Several Nieces and Nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Maxine (Eichel), Brother, Luther, and Daughter in-law Janice McLachlan. The family would to give a special thank you to the Nurses and staff of the medical floor and the palliative care unit of the South Shore Regional Hospital for their support and care for Nelson during his stay. Visitation will be held Tuesday August 31st from 7-9 pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral service will be 11 am Wednesday in St Paul’s Lutheran Church Bridgewater, Pastor Paul Jensen officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Rest Cemetery, Blockhouse. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the South Shore Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit, The Canadian Cancer Society, and The Lunenburg Co. Chapter of the S.P.C.A, or charity of choice.
