Born at Asbury, Feb. 11, 1893, he was a son of the late Charles Nixon Harrah and Georgia Ann Hughart Harrah. Born at Asbury, Feb. 11, 1893, he was a son of the late Charles Nixon Harrah and Georgia Ann Hughart Harrah. Harrah attended Greenbrier County schools and was graduated from Massie Business College, Richmond, Va. He was employed as a bookkeeper for a Lynchburg wholesale firm for two years and later founded the Home Office Supply Co., Welch, and operated it for 35 years before going to Alderson, where he operated the Greenbrier Gas and Appliance Co., for 14 years prior to retiring two years ago due to ill health. He was a life member of San Antonio Consistory 32nd degree Mason, Benevolent Order of Elks Lodge 821; American Legion Post No. 8: Veterans of Foreign Wars; McDowell Lodge Ancient Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 112; Order of Easter Star, Chapter 87; charter member of the 40 and 8 Inn, McDowell County and a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife, two daughters, two sons, two sisters, four brothers, and one grandchild. Masonic services will be conducted in the Diuguid Memorial Chapel, Rivermont Ave., Lynchburg, Va. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Fort Ave., Lynchburg.
