Description	:	Obituary Nelvina Vander Pol, 87, of Sioux Center, IA died Friday, June 29, 2012 at the Sanford Hospital in Rock Rapids, Iowa. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 9th from 1-2PM at the First Reformed Church of Sioux Center. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 9th at 2PM in the Chapel of First Reformed Church of Sioux Center with Rev. Roger Voskuil officiating. Nelvina Vander Pol was born to Henry and Wilhelmina (Cleveringa) Langstraat on October 12, 1924 at Carmel, Iowa. Nelvina attended country school in the Carmel area through the 8th grade. As a young woman, she worked at Roelofs Store in Sioux Center. On October 8, 1964, she married Marion L. Vander Pol. Following their marriage, Nelvina cared for their family and did sewing for others. She later worked for a time at SiouxPreme Egg Processing. After retiring, she and Marion wintered for many years in Texas. Her free time was filled with sewing, crocheting and craft projects. Nelvina loved to play cards and was an avid reader. Nelvina was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Marion Vander Pol; her parents; three brothers: Clarence, Fred and Bill Langstraat and two sisters: Tracy Niemeyer and Edna Schelling. -Obituary from Memorial Funeral Home
